Ask The Experts About Virtual Therapist

Carol asks…
Does this count as sexual assault?
The other day I was playing Second Life (it’s an online virtual reality game for those who are not aware) and a man in the game jumped on my avatar and forced himself on me. I did not want this to happen and I cried all night. I don’t know who to turn to because this happened online and I don’t remember the mans username. I feel violated and horrible.
My friends say I should call the police. I just don’t know what to do. My therapist says that just because skin didn’t touch skin it doesn’t make it any less traumatic. I agree with her.

admin answers:
If you need a therapist, you cried all night after that incident, and your friends think you should call the police about what one avatar did (allegedly) to another avatar, you need to:
1) cancel your account with Second Life, because you are not sane enough to be on there;
2) throw out your friends and find some better ones;
3) fire your therapist, because you are only providing her with money that she doesn’t deserve.
